Options For Getting Money For Cars

By Virginia Morgan

As your vehicle gets older you might decide that it is time to replace it. A lot of places will give a part exchange deal but that means you are limited to buying your next vehicle from them. If you are buying privately or from a dealer that does not want to buy your vehicle then you will need to find a company that gives money for cars.

One way is to find a local garage or dealership that buys used vehicles. You take the car along and they will check it over then give you an offer. This is often much less than if you are buying from them as well because they need to make a profit and do not have the cushion of the new vehicle price.

One way to reach private buyers is at an auction. The auction company will need all the particulars about the car and maybe a photo if they send out catalogues. Check what commission they charge for their services and remember auctions are not necessarily held all the time. On the day of the auction you will need to get your car to the venue so buyers can view it prior to bidding.

It is becoming increasingly popular to advertise vehicles for sale on the internet. There are a variety of sites offering this service and different advertising rates will apply. The cheapest option may not be the best so check out a few before making your final decision. One that is easy to find via search engines or is a well known site will get more traffic and you are more likely to get a sale.

Once you have decided to sell online take some photos showing various angles and make sure you out in all relevant information. Any extras you have added could make your vehicle more attractive than one similarly priced. Many of these sites allow the buyer to refine their search using a price band so think about which range you want to be in. If the site works on auction basis you can state the minimum you will accept so you do not sell at under its value.

If you have not idea what to ask for your vehicle then there are sites which will make you a cash offer based on the information you enter. To get an accurate quote be sure to put in the details accurately sand declare any damage which might affect the price. If you select a company the operates near you then you could accept their offer and do the deal with them.

Websites offering instant deals will still need to inspect your vehicle to make sure it is sound. Like any dealer they need to make a profit when they sell the car. This means you will not be offered the full value that you might achieve by selling direct to a private buyer.

If you are not in a hurry for cash and drive your car regularly around busy areas then you could put a for sale sign in the rear or side window. Make sure it has your contact details but do not make it so big it obscures your vision. You will have to make appointments for viewing so this may not be the most convenient way to sell.
