For those who have decided to go to Canada, you might need to have LMIA. This is a document that signifies the need of a certain company to hire a foreign worker.

Different conditions must be met before this can be released. And the employer is the one that applies and fills out this form and then they would send it back to you. The acronym stands for Labor Market Impact Assessment which is very necessary for those who are going to apply for work. And they need to have this together with other documents and the work permit.

All workers might be required to apply and have these documents. But there are others who could be exempted from it. Having the general idea of the situations and instances when you might not be counted for it can be beneficial. It helps saves time. And you would not have to stress over waiting for the form.

These requirements might not apply to those who are currently under the international agreements. Business individuals and those who are currently in talks with investments and trading with other companies would not have to go through these things at all. Certain professionals might also be exempted with the rule.

Those that are currently participating in exchange programs are also not included in this. Students are not the only ones who can be exchanged with other universities. You can also see that several companies would want to see certain employees from the other branches to see how they fare in a different work environment.

Those who married a local of the area will have the privilege of not providing other documents that even tourists need to give. But they will undergo a totally different process. Traveling for charity works and other voluntary missions might involve work. But because this is done in the name of being a volunteer, the checking of documents are not very strict. Their document needs are just the same as tourists with minor specifications and differences.

The bottom line is that you would have to coordinate with the employer. If you are getting the job through an agency, things might be smoother and easier since they already have connections to the country and they also have direct contact with the employers which is a good thing for you. You only need to prepare the ones that are being requested.
